The reports from the stations monitoring the Land of Steel reported last that 99% of human life had been wiped out. They must have stopped because they either died or figured that there was no one to report it to anymore.

It was. I can suppress the rate at which the spores - um, the parts of me that turn into angels that try to kill everyone - come down, but I don't have control over them at all.

There were about a few billion that came down at once. I didn't mean to. I tried to stop it.
